Survive the night.

Night after night, ghouls claw through the boarded windows of a walled village. Hold Sneak at a broken window to nail the planks back, and fight with whatever you can afford.

Every hit and kill earns embers. Spend them on gates that open new districts, on weapon racks, blessing shrines and a cursed chest that hands out a random relic.

From wave 5, light the four soul braziers hidden in the graveyard, the market, the mill and the crypt. When all four burn, the Bell Tower opens and the Hollow Warden awakens.

Old Wick, a friendly lamplighter ghost, waits in the chapel to tell the story and what to do next. A line above the hotbar always shows the current goal, and an Easy mode is there for young players.

  • Six zones

    Chapel Square, Old Graveyard, Market Street, Pumpkin Mill, the Crypt and the Bell Tower.

  • Endless waves

    Ghouls in three looks, bone hounds that flank and lantern wraiths that guard the flames.

  • Barricades

    Windows break under the attacks. Hold Sneak in front of one to rebuild it.

  • Weapons and blessings

    Nine weapons, a crossbow, holy water and four shrines with permanent perks.

  • The ritual

    Four braziers to light across the map, each guarded by a wraith.

  • The Hollow Warden

    A 900 HP boss with ground slams and summoned ghouls, at the top of the Bell Tower.

  • Old Wick

    A friendly ghost who tells the story, gives the next goal and keeps your records.

  • Lost lanterns

    Eight lanterns hidden in the village. Find them all and every vigil starts stronger.

  • Forge and street lamps

    Upgrade your weapon up to +3 at the Ember Forge, light lamps to scare the ghouls away.
